THESE LITTLE ART PIECES ARE COLLAGES AND SKETCHES FROM MY LITTLE CLOSET IN MY HOME. I SET UP A LITTLE DESK WITH SIMPLE SUPPLIES. DURING THE YOUNGER CHILDREN'S REST TIME, I WILL GO BACK TO MY LITTLE PLACE AND CREATE THINGS THAT ARE IN MY HEART. THIS IS ALL NEW. IT GOES TO SHOW THAT ONE IS NEVER TOO OLD OR TOO BUSY TO DISCOVER A HIDDEN INTEREST OR GIFT. MY HEART IS TO BLESS OTHERS WITH REST, HOPE AND PEACE THROUGH MY NEW FOUND ABILITY.

Primroses and a Milk Can

The Primrose is a delicate flower which often grows wild in the shady woods. They grow close to the ground as a a dainty spray. It is rare to find them in England as they are often plucked up. In fact, there is a law that prohibits the picking of primroses in this country. It kind of makes me sad how these beauties have been abused. Makes me think of how we sometimes can trample on and take advantage of even the beauty God has placed within human beings.

Delicate rose you thrive in your prime
However some treat you as you are not worth a dime.
You spread your beauty in the shade of the heat.
Yet others trample and employ your notable feat.

These cans were used to store milk up until the mid 1930's. Then glass milk bottles were used for storing milk. It is amazing the changes I have seen over time. I was not born until 1964. However, I remember the milk man bring bottles of milk and setting them on the steps of our carport. Now, you just go to the store and buy them in plastic jugs or cardboard cartons!

After the Wind

This sketch goes with the last one. Look at the position of the rose. What do you see in her after she has gone through some intense gusts? And what do you think the dove represents?

Wind Tossed Beauty

To be honest, I really have not felt like sketching lately...just have not been motivated. The winds of life have picked up and I have felt tossed around a bit. However, I sat down and did this one tonight and it felt great...I guess my heart can relate to the circumstance of the rose.

Solitude

I love solitude even though it is rare in my home.
Maybe that is why I appreciate stillness.
I also love the coast.
So I am relating to this peaceful pelican
who is very still, very content.
Resting in his little hiding place
Amongst the salty ocean fragrance
Unseen behind the marshy screen
Of the coastal gardens.
Solitude!
Solitude!
I am calling for you!

Girlie Stuff

I started out sketching the little girl with folded hands but this is how it turned out. It is funny how sometimes your hand takes you in a different direction. It is kind of like a hidden gift waiting to be revealed. One of my words was cut off on the scanner. However, it says,

Ruffles and Ribbons,
Presents and Purse,
Sashes and Satin,
I love Girlie Stuff!

I just wanted to apologize to those of you who keep checking here to find a new sketch Honestly I have had a good bit of morning sickness and just have not spent any free time doing anything but sleeping. However, I am beginning to feel much better and hope to start back sketching soon. Please keep checking back. I appreciate your encouragement and for viewing my sketches.
